The University of South Africa (UNISA) has celebrated their 150 years’ anniversary on 26th June, 2023, the original date of opening the university.

Founded in 1873, UNISA has the bragging right as the oldest university in South Africa and also boasts as the University that gave birth to South Africa’s university system.

Its motto is “Pro Gentibus Sapienta”, which translates into “in service of humanity”.

UNISA is located in Pretoria, South Africa; with several other campuses scattered in South Africa and other countries in Africa and across the world.

With a variety of courses and a projected enrolment of about 370 000+ students across 130 countries in the world, UNISA is, currently, one of the mega-universities in the world.
